Different from indoor furniture, outdoor scenarios involving high temperature, heavy rain, humidity and ultraviolet rays put extremely high demands on material durability. In Hongkai's raw material warehouse, you won't find "randomly purchased" wood or metal, only core materials that have passed multiple rounds of screening.

For our best-selling teak series, we only use FSC-certified mature teak. Each piece of wood undergoes density testing and moisture content inspection to ensure the natural oil content meets standards, fundamentally avoiding cracking and deformation in the later stage. For the aluminum alloy series, we adopt high-grade aviation aluminum, which undergoes anodizing pretreatment to build a "defensive line" against rust and corrosion in advance. Before raw materials are put into storage, they must go through 3 sampling re-inspections. Unqualified raw materials are directly returned and will never enter the production process.

Ingenious Craftsmanship: Details That Withstand Outdoor Tests

If raw materials are the foundation, then craftsmanship is the key to making outdoor furniture "durable and good-looking". In the production workshop of Hongkai Factory, traditional ingenuity and modern technology are seamlessly integrated.

In the woodworking workshop, after teak boards are cut by CNC machines, they enter our unique "three-soak-three-dry" stabilization process: 48-hour water soaking to soften fibers, followed by 72-hour constant-temperature air-drying to release moisture. This cycle is repeated three times to stabilize the wood moisture content at 8%-10%, making it adaptable to outdoor environments in different climate zones. In the metal workshop, laser welding machines are operating with precision. With a welding error control of 0.1mm, the weld scars on the aluminum alloy frame are almost invisible, which not only enhances aesthetics but also improves structural strength, enabling it to resist strong winds during typhoons.

For the joints of each piece of furniture, we adopt a dual process of "reinforced mortise and tenon + stainless steel hardware". For fabric sewing, we use UV-resistant special threads with a stitch density of 8 stitches per centimeter, ensuring that the cushions won't come unstitched or fade after being exposed to the sun. These invisible details are our commitment to "outdoor durability".

From fine-tuning the curvature of the chair surface to customizing fabric colors, sample proofing can be completed in as short as 15 days.

During the production process, customers can also check the progress in real-time through the "cloud supervision" system. The quality inspection report of each process is updated simultaneously, making quality visible and traceable.

Quality Inspection "Last Mile": Defective Products Will Never Leave the Factory

At the final stage of Hongkai Factory, there is an "iron rule": every finished product must pass 12 extreme tests before leaving the factory, including 72-hour rain test, 5,000-time opening and closing load-bearing test, and UV aging test. We simulate extreme environments such as the cold winter in northeastern North America and the hot sun in the Middle East desert to ensure that the furniture can be used stably in any scenario.

Once, a batch of leisure chairs had a welding error of more than 0.3mm on the armrests. Even though it did not affect use, we reworked and remade all of them.
